Mosunmola Abudu also called Mo Abudu is a media mogul, human resource management consultant and philanthropist based in Nigeria.
She is what we describe as well as Forbes as Africa’s most successful woman (Forbes 2015). She is indeed a successful and very influential personality.
Mo was originally born in the UK and spent her first seven years in the country until her family moved to Lagos Nigeria. She finished primary school at Fiwayage Girl’s Grammar School before returning to the UK where she continued her education at the Hammersmith County Secondary School.
Unfortunately, before the end of her secondary school education, she witnessed the demise of her father.
Her tertiary education in HR management was done at the University of Westminster London. It is worthy to note that Mo Abudu worked her way through the tertiary education, not the list swayed by the death of her father.
Abudu was at one time married to Tokunbo Abudu, and the union was blessed with a son and daughter. She is currently divorced although she has maintained a stable relationship with her ex-husband and her children.
Mo Abudu kicked off her career in the UK as a recruitment consultant, before joining Esso Exploration and Production Nigeria Limited (Now Exxon Mobil) as the head of the Human Resources Training Unit. In the year 2000, she left this position to establish her specialist Human Resources development company Vic Lawrence and Associates Limited.
At that same time, she developed an executive training center at the Protea Hotel Oakwood Park Lagos.

In the year 2006, Mo Abudu developed the Ebony life Tv a formidable media platform covering about 49 countries across Africa, UK and the Caribbean. The station began broadcast on 1st July, 2013 to a Pan African audience.

It has featured many guests from all works of life including the 67th US Secretary of State, Hilary Clinton.

The Ebony TV located in Tinapa Resort, Calabar is a subsidiary of the Media and Entertainment City Africa MEC Africa. She also featured the creation of “The Debaters” a reality show funded By Guaranty Trust Bank which was launched in 2009.
Achievements / Awards
As said earlier, Forbes Africa has acknowledged Mo Abudu as the first African woman to own a PAN Africa TV channel. she is also listed among the 25 most influential women in Global TV by the Hollywood Reporters. She has also received the award for Entrepreneur of the year by the woman week in the New York.
In 2014, she was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree from Babcock University.
