Ludacris was born on the September 11th in the year 1977 and christened Christopher Brian Bridges. He is an American songwriter, record producer, entrepreneur, actor, and rapper. Ludacris is also the founder of several organizations including disturbing tha Peace and has won numerous awards. He is one of the most influential rappers of the Dirty South, and his success story began in the early parts of the 2000s.

Ludacris Biography

Ludacris was born in Champaign, Illinois but by the age of nine, he moved to Atlanta following his passion for rapping. He is the only child born to Wayne Brain Bridges and Roberta Shields. He attended the Emerson Middle School in Oak Park and continued his high school education at the Oak Park & River Forest High School.  After this, he moved to Centreville high school which he also did for a year. This was before he moved to Atlanta Georgia where he attended the Banneker High School. From then on, he studied music management at the Georgia State University

Ludacris Music Career

He began his slow sojourn in the music world in 1998 when he served as an Intern and later as a D.J at the Atlanta Hot 97.5 ( which is now called Hot 107.9) under the name Chris Lova Lova. At that time he was known for his DJing as well as his collaborations with Timbaland on “Phat Rabbit,” Dalla Austin and Jermaine Dupri.

In 1998, he began recording his first studio album “Incognero: which was the defining point. However, despite its poor sales at that time, it was kept in line and is still being downloaded till date. His second album released, ‘Back for the First Time,’ was a smash hit and reached the number 4 spot of the U.S Billboard 200. Ludacris singles “Southern Hospitality” and “What’s Your Fantasy” were the landmarks of his success in the music industry.

His next studio album “ Word of Mouf” was released in 2001 and the video for the Lead single “Rollout ( My Business)”received nominations for a Grammy Awards the following year. He has also collaborated with the likes of Nate Dogg, Mystikal, and I-20.

In 2003, he acted the movie “2 Fast 2 Furious” while creating the soundtrack for the movie which was also a hit single “ Act a Fool.” Simultaneously, he released another lead album titled “ Chicken –n-Burger,” and the hit single for this album was P-popping (pu**y-popping). The next album after this, released in 2004, had a full blown sexual theme, adult-oriented lyrics and steamy video that could only be viewed at the BET’s Uncut program. However, after this album, he received his first Grammy Awards alongside Lil Jon and Usher for their hit single “Yeah.”

However, his fourth album: The Red Light district” took a more mature approach, letting go of some of the profanities and explicit video contents of his first three albums. This video debuted at the Billboard  Number one sport. He has since them released over nine albums including which contained hit singles like “ How Low,” “ My Chick Bad,” “Nasty Girl” and many more. One of his hit singles, titled and contained in his 7th album, “Battle of the Sexes: charted at the number one spot of Billboard 100 and received 137,000 sales within the first week for release. It is currently certified gold.

His tenth album is already in the works, although he released a hit single “Vitamin D” featuring Ty Dolla Sign in 2017. He also hosed the Youtube Best Cover Ever show in 2017. And in 2018, he was featured in the hit single by Carrie Underwood titled “ The Champion.”

Ludacris Wife and Personal Life

Ludacris is married to Eudoxie Mbouguiengue, and the couple is blessed with a baby girl. However, his first daughter is Karma Bridges ( born in 2001) by an attorney in Atlanta and second daughter, Cai Bella Brigdes was born in 2013 by his longtime friend Tamika Fuller.

Ludacris Business

Ludacris owns the record label, Disturbing tha Peace and is the co-owner of the Conjure Cognac Liquor. He also owns a line of headphones called “Soul by Ludacris” which is manufactured by Soul Electronics.

He also owns a restaurant, Chicken N Beer’ which he opened in November 2016 at the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta.

Philanthropy

Ludacris is also a philanthropist and has joined initiatives such as “Better World Books” and “Do Something to collect books” and “restock the libraries at New Orleans”. Before he began to see much success in his career, he had started an initiative, back in 2002, called the “Chris “Ludacris” Bridges. The focus of this foundation is to help give inspiration to youths to push on with their Education and become something for themselves. There are their arms of this organization, or what Ludacris calls “3Ls,” and these arms includes Leadership/Education, LudaCares  and Living Healthy Lifestyles
