Peter Okoye also known by the stage name ‘Mr. P’ is the other half of defunct music group Psquare. He is the twin, to Paul Okoye aka Rude boy.
Mr. P is equally a Nigerian singer, songwriter, performer and a prolific dancer who thrills his fans with danceable songs. Peter Okoye whose stage name is now Mr. P was born on the 18th of November, 1981 in Jos, Nigeria and he hails from Ifite, Dunu in Anambra State of Nigeria. He attended St. Murrumba secondary school in Jos, Nigeria where he began his music journey into stardom by joining a drama club with his brother. He later went to the University of Abuja where he studied Business Administration.
Peter (Mr. P) got married to his long time girlfriend, Titilola, whom he dated for more than seven years before tying the knot in November 2013; although he had already fathered a son and a daughter with her.
Their wedding was well attended by prominent personalities and celebrities like Aliko Dangote, Emmanuel Adebayor, Genevieve Nnaji and many other well known Nigerians both home and abroad.
Peter Mr. P Okoye has achieved great success in the music industry with his twin brother as Psquare. He started off as an Acapella group with his brother, drawing inspiration from Michael Jackson’s dancing steps which they perfected and eventually got bookings for their performances around Jos, Nigeria.
Psquare’s first album titled ‘Last Nite’ was a success and this got the them a KORA Awards nomination; they went on to release another album titled ‘ Get Squared’ in 2005 under the Squared Records label, with the ‘ Busy Body’ track becoming a mega hit both in and out of the country and bringing them so much fame.
Two years later they dropped another album titled ‘Game Over’ and this was their best selling album with about 8 million copies sold.The album featured big international American artistes like Akon in ‘Chop my Money’, Rick Ross in ‘Onyinye’ and T.I in “Ejeajo’.
They went on to release other albums including, ‘Danger’ in 2009 , ‘The Invasion’ in 2011 and in 2014 they released ‘Double trouble’.
According to reports Peter Okoye was the one who requested for the Psquare split as a result of irreconcilable differences with his twin brother, Paul. He felt disrespected and cheated and opted to take his career and destiny in his own hands.
However, since splitting with his brother, he has released some hit songs especially “Ebeano” which became a mega hit.

Peter Okoye has received so many awards and nominations during his time with Psquare including; The Headies, City Magazine 9th Awards Show, Nigeria Music Awards, Channel O Music Video Awards, KORA Awards, BET Awards, Ghana Music Awards MTV Europe Music Awards, Soul Train Music Awards.
He is yet to receive any award as solo artiste but this may soon be history with the way he is proving himself.
Peter Okoye alongside his twin brother Paul Rude Boy Okoye were both Globacom ambassadors with customized cars to their names.
He also had a deal with Olympic Milk in addition to other lucrative endorsements. He is yet to sign any endorsement as a solo artist as at the time of writing.
